CAPTOR calls itself a “citizen science project”. What does that mean?
That means that in CAPTOR citizens and scientists work hand in hand to address the ozone pollution problem.
We believe that in an equal partnership we can achieve more! Collaboratively we can:
- set up a sensor network, maintained by European citizens, that measures Ozone pollution even in regions where official measurement stations are not existent.
- stimulate mutual learning and discussions about Ozone pollution: What are the reasons in the participating regions? What are ideas for solutions? Who needs to be involved to implement the solutions (citizens, NGOs, political decision makers, local industry)?
- create wider awareness about Ozone pollution
