Around 50 experts on Citizen Science-based air quality research participated in the Hackair Roundtable on October 24 in Frankfurt am Main. Cost-effective air quality sensors are increasingly being used and complement the official high-end measurement stations. The cost-effective air quality sensors not only help to build an increasingly dense sensor network, but also to enhance and expand knowledge sharing on air quality between science and society. Of course, much remains to be done to improve the reliability of measurements and to sustainably increase the uptake of air quality information.
Next week there will be a follow-up workshop at the 2018 CAPTOR conference in Milan (see agenda (pdf)).
